found out today that the guard's men who died recently, happens to be the shopkeeper's (of my block) son. the last time, i saw the guy he was just a kid running around with his younger sis; and today i heard from a friend , a former football kaki, about his death. no wonder there as a huge crowd at a funeral two weeks back at my block. if i'm not mistaken, the kid was barely a month into his national service. we have had a number of deaths within year or so, during training. i could imagine every parents fear of sending their kid to national service now. how much guarantee can the goverment give, that such situation would not happened again? its not happening in iraq or afghanistan, its on our very own shores for god's sakes, something thats is within your control. how much has been done or will be done to ensure safety of our fellow men?? or will it all be swept under the rug and the money put into other use? its funny how when things go high tech, the simplest detail go over looked.
