random thoughts

it's two days to new years day, two months to my birthday, two months to end of contract. it's been an eventful 2007 esp after last friday (made some new friends too) but i guess the best is yet to come. however, i am not sure how i am going to spend new year's eve, might just stay home and spend it with my family. well, i am not getting younger anymore and who knows how many christmas & new years i am going to spend with my mom. its slowly becoming a reality which i don't want to face.. next year would be my dad's tenth year death anniversary but i still managed to survive.. however, i am not sure how i will cope if mom's not longer around. i might just live with my eldest sis in newcastle, the possibilites are there but of course the alliance will always be with liverpool...haha. well, these are just random thoughts which might just happened one day but i am not ready to face at the moment.

well, it's the last sunday of the year and i am late for a lunch appt...

3 days to christmas..

You mean to me
What I mean to you and..
Together baby,
There is nothing we won't do
'cause if I got you,
I don't need money,
I don't need cars,
Girl, you're my all.....

the snow effect that never was...

I tried to add snow effect but to no avail, guess the script don't work on blogger.. sigh. Oh well, let me leave you with this poem then.. :p

Snow Poem

When the white snow falls
as if the sky was floating gently to the ground
The cool air around me
at winter time
blows the snow around in various circles
And the white ground looks as if painted
everywhere around
covered all about
The children
having snowball fights
in the mist of nature's masterpiece
Enjoying themselves
on nature's wonderful time of year
And some inside
on an open fire
roasting marshmellows
'til they're brown and crisp
And others still
inside their homes
decorating trees with shiny ornaments
making nature's masterpiece
even better than it was
Christmas

got this from a friend via email... read on.

Dear Walter:

I hope you can help me here. The other day I set off for work leaving my husband in the house watching the TV as usual. I hadn't gone more than a mile down the road when my engine conked out and the car shuddered to a halt.

I walked back home to get my husband's help. When I got home I couldn't believe my eyes. He was in the bedroom with a neighbor lady making mad passionate love to her.

I am 32, my husband is 34 and we have been married for twelve years.

When I confronted him, he tried to make out that he went into the back yard and heard a lady scream, had come to her rescue but found her unconscious. He'd carried the woman back to our house, laid her in bed, and began CPR. When she awoke she immediately began thanking him and kissing him and he was attempting to break free when I came back. But when I asked him why neither of them had any clothes on, he broke down and admitted that he'd been having an affair for the past six months.

I told him to stop or I would leave him. He was let go from his job six months ago and he says he has been feeling increasingly depressed and worthless. I love him very much, but ever since I gave him the ultimatum he has become increasingly distant. I don't feel I can get through to him anymore.

Can you please help?

Sincerely,

Mrs. Sheila Usk

====================================================================

Dear Sheila:

A car stalling after being driven a short distance can be caused by a variety of faults with the engine. Start by checking that there is no debris in the fuel line. If it is clear, check the jubilee clips holding the vacuum pipes onto the inlet manifold. If none of these approaches solves the problem, it could be that the fuel pum p itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure to the carburetor float chamber.

I hope this helps.

Walter

And I'm so glad that you are mine
You are one of a kind and..

W.Va. town remembers 1967 bridge failure

On December 15, 1967 at approximately 5 pm, the US Highway 35 bridge connecting Point Pleasant, West Virginia and Kanauga, Ohio suddenly collapsed into the Ohio River. At the time of failure, thirty- seven vehicles were crossing the bridge span, and thirty-one of those automobiles fell with the bridge. ..

from looney tunes to dxo

was on leave on friday and what better way to spend it than with ur colleagues... haha. well, we went down to suntec to catch the looney tunes show as my beloved 'niece', xin lan is a huge fan of tweety. it was kinda awkward as we were in the same area where the kids were siting, good thing some of us were standing along with the parents. at then end of show, we took a picture with tweety bird, bugs bunny and sylvester. here's a little something for my niece: -

after suntec we went our diff ways. xin lan & her friend went to zouk while i waited with andy & jenny who were going back. we waited for almost an hour for the bladdy bus, 502 and the journey home will take another hour. should have taken the trains guys!! anyways, i went off to dxo to meet mel & the rest. my first time there and the place is not bad; furthermore the friends of friends totally rocked on and off the dance floor. yes, i had my 5 secs of fame... ha ha. it was great and i finally got to meet someone in person but too bad we couldn't take a pic together.
anyways, took a long walk to rendezvous hotel with ap & carol had a good chat along the way and a washroom stop over @ the hotel before calling it a night.

well, things have changed in some ways but i guess among friends even though we have not seen each other for months, there is no love lost.

next stop - christmas parties! it's 16 days to christmas and my tree is not up yet!! ha ha

living on borrowed time

to me dearest niece,
you make me smile always...
:)
