It has been a interesting week in football history. I guess the January transfer window was the most exciting one since i don't know when. I guess it was becoz Fernando caught everyone of surprise by leaving Liverpool. The club that he once sworn allegiance when he came to anfield, ensured all the fans that he wld not play for any other club. But all that came to end when he signed for Chelsea. If that wasn't hurting enough, his only words was 'he was leaving for a big club!'. A big club??? Ok, Liverpool have not won anything since the FA Cup in 2005/2006. But let's look at 'big club''s trophy cabinet. . .
CHELSEA HONORS
- 04 League Titles
- 6 FA Cups
- 4 League Cups
- 2 Cup Winners Cup
- 1 Europea Super Cups
- 2 Charity Shields
- 2 Community Shields
- 3 FA Youth Cups
This is what Chelsea have to offer compared to Liverpool's Cabinet which is still a remarkable one in the Premiership . . .
LIVERPOOL HONORS
- 18 League Titles
- 5 European Cups
- 7 FA Cups
- 7 League Cups
- 3 UEFA Cups
- 3 European Super Cups
- 15 Charity Shields
- 3 FA Youth Cups
As you can see the only club in the Premiership that can rival Liverpool is none other than our arch rival Man United. So how big a club is Chelsea?? Prob big in spending, that's all they do. Wenger has hit out at big spending Chelsea after the transfer window was shut. He mentioned that his squad that beat Everton was worth not more than 40 million, 10 million less than Fernando Torres. So all this talk abt a bigger club, it pure rubbish. Chelsea will continue to spend in the summer in order to win titles. But when you have to many stars in the club, it will be hard to get what you want. They are the premiership answer to Real Madrid.
Sundays match will be interesting as we pit against Torres & company.. YNWA!!!
