TGIF?

its thursday but why does it feel like a friday??

Since my home computer is not fixed, i've been watching vcds to pass my time. decided to watch Lord of the Rings - Twin Towers and The Return of the King again. I must say, it was much better watching it on vcd cause I could fast forward 'Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee & Gollum'. yes, he did save the Shire as well as Middle-Earth but it was such a bore watching them.

the weekend is almost here but i wish it would come sooner... but then again there's nothing plan for the weekend. sigh

rat vs rooster

just realised that it's going to be the year of the rat... *sigh* as far as i know the rooster is the not going to have it good in the year of the rat.

send my computer for repair and after 1 week, the technician from cyber active had informed me that the motherboard has died. Good thing i bought had purchased a new motherboard and a processor but I am stuck. it looks alien to me and nothing like my old motherboard.

Hence, i am without a comp still. will prob get it rectified during the weekend.

in the meantime, heres to a good weekend.

Under a blood red sky

"Under a blood red sky
A crowd has gathered in black and white
Arms entwined, the chosen few
The newspapers says, says
Say it's true it's true...
And we can break through
Though torn in two
We can be one"

2008 started off not so good, my sis-in-law's father who was holidaying in Singapore passed away a few days after new year. the body was flown back to India last Friday and my bro & wife went to India as well for the funeral. in the meantime, we got to look after the kids.. and there's nothing in my house to excite a child. *sigh* got to tolerate till this Saturday.. *sighs again*

to add to it, choir just issued out the same old rule and i guess i wont be able to commit myself anymore.. but i feel that this issue has been dragging and delayed for far too long, it was just overlooked cause it was not a problem back then. so i feel it is not fair that this ultimatum was issued to them. for me, i don't feel anything for the choir anymore cause i have lived my best years of it and i'll be leaving with good memories... but what abt others who still have the attachment to the choir....?

to even add to it, a good friend's cat was put to sleep this morning and it really affected her alot. not really sure how to console her as i never own a cat before but i guess i hve to try..

last but not least, my home computer is down and i've send it to be repaired.. have given up on trying to solve the problem.. hopefully by next week my new comp would be up. in the meantime, i just hang in there...

its 9:30pm and i'm still in the office.. signing off and going home.

random thoughts

it's two days to new years day, two months to my birthday, two months to end of contract. it's been an eventful 2007 esp after last friday (made some new friends too) but i guess the best is yet to come. however, i am not sure how i am going to spend new year's eve, might just stay home and spend it with my family. well, i am not getting younger anymore and who knows how many christmas & new years i am going to spend with my mom. its slowly becoming a reality which i don't want to face.. next year would be my dad's tenth year death anniversary but i still managed to survive.. however, i am not sure how i will cope if mom's not longer around. i might just live with my eldest sis in newcastle, the possibilites are there but of course the alliance will always be with liverpool...haha. well, these are just random thoughts which might just happened one day but i am not ready to face at the moment.

well, it's the last sunday of the year and i am late for a lunch appt...

Hello Kitty for guys

Came across this on MSNBC... (it's like wtf??)

3 days to christmas..

You mean to me
What I mean to you and..
Together baby,
There is nothing we won't do
'cause if I got you,
I don't need money,
I don't need cars,
Girl, you're my all.....

the snow effect that never was...

I tried to add snow effect but to no avail, guess the script don't work on blogger.. sigh. Oh well, let me leave you with this poem then.. :p

Snow Poem

When the white snow falls
as if the sky was floating gently to the ground
The cool air around me
at winter time
blows the snow around in various circles
And the white ground looks as if painted
everywhere around
covered all about
The children
having snowball fights
in the mist of nature's masterpiece
Enjoying themselves
on nature's wonderful time of year
And some inside
on an open fire
roasting marshmellows
'til they're brown and crisp
And others still
inside their homes
decorating trees with shiny ornaments
making nature's masterpiece
even better than it was
Christmas

got this from a friend via email... read on.

Dear Walter:

I hope you can help me here. The other day I set off for work leaving my husband in the house watching the TV as usual. I hadn't gone more than a mile down the road when my engine conked out and the car shuddered to a halt.

I walked back home to get my husband's help. When I got home I couldn't believe my eyes. He was in the bedroom with a neighbor lady making mad passionate love to her.

I am 32, my husband is 34 and we have been married for twelve years.

When I confronted him, he tried to make out that he went into the back yard and heard a lady scream, had come to her rescue but found her unconscious. He'd carried the woman back to our house, laid her in bed, and began CPR. When she awoke she immediately began thanking him and kissing him and he was attempting to break free when I came back. But when I asked him why neither of them had any clothes on, he broke down and admitted that he'd been having an affair for the past six months.

I told him to stop or I would leave him. He was let go from his job six months ago and he says he has been feeling increasingly depressed and worthless. I love him very much, but ever since I gave him the ultimatum he has become increasingly distant. I don't feel I can get through to him anymore.

Can you please help?

Sincerely,

Mrs. Sheila Usk

====================================================================

Dear Sheila:

A car stalling after being driven a short distance can be caused by a variety of faults with the engine. Start by checking that there is no debris in the fuel line. If it is clear, check the jubilee clips holding the vacuum pipes onto the inlet manifold. If none of these approaches solves the problem, it could be that the fuel pum p itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure to the carburetor float chamber.

I hope this helps.

Walter

W.Va. town remembers 1967 bridge failure

On December 15, 1967 at approximately 5 pm, the US Highway 35 bridge connecting Point Pleasant, West Virginia and Kanauga, Ohio suddenly collapsed into the Ohio River. At the time of failure, thirty- seven vehicles were crossing the bridge span, and thirty-one of those automobiles fell with the bridge. ..

from looney tunes to dxo

was on leave on friday and what better way to spend it than with ur colleagues... haha. well, we went down to suntec to catch the looney tunes show as my beloved 'niece', xin lan is a huge fan of tweety. it was kinda awkward as we were in the same area where the kids were siting, good thing some of us were standing along with the parents. at then end of show, we took a picture with tweety bird, bugs bunny and sylvester. here's a little something for my niece: -

after suntec we went our diff ways. xin lan & her friend went to zouk while i waited with andy & jenny who were going back. we waited for almost an hour for the bladdy bus, 502 and the journey home will take another hour. should have taken the trains guys!! anyways, i went off to dxo to meet mel & the rest. my first time there and the place is not bad; furthermore the friends of friends totally rocked on and off the dance floor. yes, i had my 5 secs of fame... ha ha. it was great and i finally got to meet someone in person but too bad we couldn't take a pic together.
anyways, took a long walk to rendezvous hotel with ap & carol had a good chat along the way and a washroom stop over @ the hotel before calling it a night.

well, things have changed in some ways but i guess among friends even though we have not seen each other for months, there is no love lost.

next stop - christmas parties! it's 16 days to christmas and my tree is not up yet!! ha ha

living on borrowed time

to me dearest niece,
you make me smile always...

messed up

a friend asked me today, will i be faithful? i said yes but deep down i noe i can't be. i've been single all my life and broken-hearted the other half of it. so why do i want to be tied down now when i've already lost out on those years searching for true love which never happened.

'she smiled the other way, and i knew i lost her that very day'. ®

and soon after the hurt is gone, i've given up ... writing poems, love letters, buying cards for ocassions n with no ocassions, gifts & presents, and all that jazz. it was a waste of time management and money. it doesn't pay to be a good guy, you only get fucked in the end.

Living The Dream

just watched Goal II and i must it is better than the first one (Goal). After gaining experience with the football club Newcastle United, Santiago Munez gets a huge break when he's transferred to Real Madrid to play in the UEFA European Champions League alongside David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, Raul, Guti and Iker Casillas. As Santiago basks in the glory, acclaim and money, he discovers the ugly face of success – one that threatens to destroy everything he’s worked for and everyone he loves...
if you have not caught it, i suggest you should cause Goal III is in production and its due to be release in the summer of 2008.
anyways, love the soundtrack from Goal II especially Feeling The Moment by Feeder. the song really rock and it made miss someone that i don't really know; or maybe it was the movie and how it ended with this song. well, go and watch the movie n u'll know.

Happy 3 Friends :p

I was having a slight fever on that but 'the show must go on', just like Kumar said. He was invited and he certainly brought the house down. The prizes were amazing but we didn't get any except for a consolation prize which needs to be collected on Monday @ office... not sure what it is. Overall we all had fun as we clicking away after the whole function. I have uploaded some on facebook, will upload the rest later. When I first joined the company, the older ones told me that its not the job but the colleagues that made them stay and i totally agree with them now. Never have i had such a bonding my collleagues before, even when i was @ citibank; we are more like a family here and i won't give it up for anything!!

How to Treat a Rude Customer

An award should go to the gate attendant at Luqa airport. A crowded Malta-London flight was cancelled. She was the lone attendant in charge of re-booking a long line of inconvenienced travelers. Suddenly an angry passenger pushed his way to the desk. He slapped his ticket down on the counter and said, 'I HAVE to be on this flight and it HAS to be FIRST CLASS'.

The attendant replied, 'I'm sorry sir. I'll be happy to try to help you, butI've got to help these people first and I'm sure we'll be able to work something out.'

The passenger was unimpressed. He asked loudly, so that the passengers behind him could hear, 'DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHO I AM?'

Without hesitating, the attendant smiled and grabbed her public address microphone: 'May I have your attention please? May I have your attention please?' she began. With her voice being heard clearly throughout theterminal, she said, 'We have a passenger here at Gate 14 WHO DOES NOT KNOW WHO HE IS. If anyone can help him find his identity, please come to Gate 14.'

With the folks behind him in line laughing hysterically, the man glared at the attendant, gritted his teeth and said, 'F... You!' Without flinching, she smiled and said, 'I'm sorry, sir, but you'll have to get in line for that too.'

this is so me!!

Temperament
Flexible
Nothing seems to bother you - you sail through life crisis free. It's not that your life doesn't have its ups and downs, it's just that you handle everything without unnecessary drama and antics. You approach each day fresh, not worrying about yesterday or tomorrow. You are confident that you can handle anything that comes your way and experience has shown that you are absolutely right about this.

Interests
Simple
You are continually pursuing a simpler and less complicated life - you don't allow yourself to fall victim to all of the "should do's" that society continually bombards you with. You are thoughtful about your life choices and think in terms of yourself, others and the world in which we live. You have a great sense that we are part of something much bigger and we must be good to others, if we want others and the world to be good to us.

Amusement
Thoughtful

You are easily stressed out and overwhelmed - you need to take care of yourself first and foremost. Because you tend to be self reflective, you know your limits quite well and must remember to not exceed those limits. When you overwhelm your life with obligations and responsibilities, you tend to shut down and go into yourself even further. Take some time to find your serenity and kick back your feet

Passion
Emotional

For you passion is less about romance and sex - it's more about friendship and family. Strong emotional bonds and connections are your passion and your pleasure. You always let your loved ones know how much you love, respect and admire them. You do this through kind words, loving actions and simple gestures. You count your blessings each day and express your love openly. You expect the same from others

how was ur day?

thanks to everyone who had showed their love and understanding. i am fine, just going thru a phase in life.

right now i am bored with nothing much to do.... thinking of visting the new T3 this saturday with my 'crazy but tame' bunch of colleagues.. that means i would be missing choir but then again, i am not really attached to it as i once was, the drive is no longer there. hence i might just step down & let my young padawan take over me. yes, she'll do a good job with melly's guidance. hehe..

still in the office, waiting my right hand man to finish his work and its 8:30pm... well the longest i've ever worked before was 8.30am to 3.00am and i crashed at my colleague's place. that was crazy, fresh into the working world and wasn't sure of anything. now... i'm still in office but it wont take till 3am ... i think?? *looks at his right hand man who is still deep in his work*

its.. 8:55pm and yes, i am outta here!!

fear

guess i'm having the middle-aged syndrome, i will be pushing 40 in less than 2yrs and its very hard to imagine. its feels like i am just turning 30 but my internal systems keeps me in check of my rightful age; and it is slowly turning against me... sigh. little by little the fortress i built ard me is slowly breaking down as fear grip me once again. feel the need to withdraw from everyone to find myself again. deep down i am scared of the future like everybody else and i'm alone.

it's november

back!!
ytd was fun but tiring... went to work and after which went to a colleague's place for hari raya. later went to attend my sista's engagement ytd.. she looked like an angel... the whole thing was really beautiful... but too bad we couldn't stay till the end.. waited for a cab close to an hour.... which really pissed me off.. alas we got one... went to gv plaza but there was nothing much to watch ... went down to cathay to catch 'game plan'... and 'the rock' rocks in this movie... it was really funny & heartwarming... after the movie, we were supposed to proceed to steamboat but one of us had to go back... so we settled for a nearby kopitiam instead... think the indian stall overcharged me ... two cheese nanns & the chicken curry cost me $9.50 and one cheese nann cost $2.50, so do the math... someday, i am going to curry them.. watever that means... well, here are some pictures....
