met up with caroline on saturday for an impromptu dinner as we happen to be heading the same way. . it's always nice seeing her although she made me wait for ½ hour. :p realised ytd that we've known each other for 10 years since i knew this girl. now ain't that something... :)

anyways, came back home after dinner and actually watched the tamil move on central - 9.30pm to 12.30pm. well, it's been a long time since i sat down infront of the tele instead of the comp. kinda like the humour n the wise cracks of the lead actor. my mom gave up half way and went to bed, so it was just me and bollywood. of course, i switched channels during the tiresome songs and dance. which lead me to conclude on the reason why tamil or hindi movies always have full songs complete with stunning dance routine n scenery; and the reason is - they don't need to shoot another video for mtv. if u think abt it, they kill two birds with one stone. the music videos that you see are taken from the movies. now ain't that something.. ;p

attended mass on sunday and a meeting after that. guess i'm back in the sound business again. helping bob out in a event in church and hopefully it won't be as bad as last year. good thing i 'm not attached to any group in the church, so i won't have to listen to the brickbats after the whole event. haha.. so i'm booked on 6th, 8th & 9th for sound checks n the actual event on 10th. so do mark your diaries if u want to date me. haha.. oh yes, talking about sound.. mark albers sms me that day @ st james - 'the reason i am here is becoz of you, so u better come and see'. well, i once tot a kid how to work a 6-channel peavey mixer and a few years later, he was head huntered to setup the sound system for st james & he currently spins at dragonfly. now ain't that something.. ;)

someday i'll be saturday night

i realise that i've been having birthday functions every two weeks since mainey's birthday. . i've got two more in the month of may. so today it's stay home weekend. . . my younger niece shu hui did invite me to minds cafe @ boat quay today but am not sure if i would be going down. see how. i am blessed with two wonderful nieces. :)

anyways, we celebrated corrinne's birthday last sat at powerhouse, st james. well, my first impression of the place wasn't a good one. firstly, when i called to make reservations on monday, the week before the actual day.. i was told that we don't have to open a bottle for a table but since reservations is supposed to two weeks in advance, he would check with his manager. the manager called me on wed and told me that he could reserve a table for me but i have to open a bottle, vodka bottle for $228. its like wtf! dun u guys communicate. anyways, since they are having a vodka promotion, i would get another bottle free n an extra table. i was like fair enough since i was gonna have 10 - 15 people coming. however, i could only bring three people in free. . .never mind, i reserved it anyways.

on the day itself at the door, i was told that there was no vodka promo whatsoever, just premium bottle @ $224 and one table... again, wtf!! the cashier girl at powerhouse acted like i owed her a living as i didn't know i had to pay for the bottle also. the way she reacted really reflected the image of the whole place. luckily, there's wasn't anymore incidents, the waitress that serve us was a pleasant one and i should have drop a compliment for her. oh yes, the tequila shots gal was cute and nice too. thanks to marky mark too for helping us out. well, lesson learnt, never arrange for a birthday at a place that you are not familiar with. next stop, obar.

sigh, i should really stop clubbing...retire to a nice old folks home and start a new dance craze there.... hahaha. anyone wanna join me? will call it folk dance.... wait that's done already. i know! we'll call the 'dance of the roaches'!! hahaha... all incestcides are not invited.. :p okie okie, i noe its lame, well the heat it getting to me.. *onz fan* so where was i... oh yes.. retiring. not sure why the president came into my mind all of a sudden. haha... my ex-colleague happens to be his neighbour.. no joke! went to her place for hari raya a few years back and saw his place. a humble guy as the place was just as normal as the rest, so u can't really tell that's the pressie place except something that gives the place away.. but i ain't gonna tell ya. hahaha.

well, it's the weekend, go out and enjoy yourself. remember its not the place that makes the night, its the company. have a great weekend.

the forbidden kingdom

I watched The Forbidden Kingdom with Robin & Pat today and it totally rocks. Maybe because I fell in love with actress Crystal Liu Yifei. I was introduced to Liu Yifei by my colleague, Jason who had her wallpapers on his desktop for a couple of months. Didn't realise how pretty she was until I saw the movie... I just fell in love. She is the golden sparrow and she can kick ass. About the movie, go watched it. Hahaha

The Party Of Five + B'day Boy

We celebrated Edward's (seated, centre) birthday last Saturday @ a buffet steamboat restaurant off bugis. It was a surprise thingi for Edward who didn't know what was coming as his birthday is i think quite a while to go; but as my niece put it, 'later got no time, cause got school and will have no time to plan'.. or something along that line...hahaha. . . All in all, we had fun and filled our fill. Happy Birthday Edward!!

birthday saturday

It was birthday Saturday on 5 April 2008. I had three birthday celebration on the same day but thankfully @ different timings.

First stop was lunch @ Safra Yishun to celebrate my colleague Jumnah's Birthday @ Eatzi, if i am not mistaken. We also did a belated birthday for my sister lina. Lunch was great and we all had a great time. (more pics to be uploaded)

Next stop was rick's place at Yio Chu Kang where we celebrated ex-colleague Carrie's Birthday. It was a pot luck thingi so Andy and I bought some curry puffs n goreng pisang. Our version of healthy lifestyle. In the end, there was too much of food and two boxes of curry puffs were untouched. Not sure what happened to it as i had leave early. Sadly there were no photos taken. :(

After Rick's place, headed down to Double 'O' with Melvin and Corrinne to celebrate Germaine's birthday. It was actually my first time there and the place really cool for someone who grew up in the 80's. After two decades, the music still sounds good and it's great to know youngsters who were not born then, enjoying the music....hahaha. The drinks were crazy (as usual) and we managed to finish almost everything. The birthday girl had a great time so did all of us. Will upload the pictures as when i get them. Didn't know much I managed to stay up the whole time and finally only slept at 2pm on sunday considering the fact i woke up @ 9am on saturday. What's wrong with me?? :p

Next stop, Corrinne's birthday @ Movida, St James Power Station. However, Huirong suggested PowerHouse since Corrinne likes rnb as Movida plays world music which would be appealing too. I've never been to St James before so I'm thinking of going down next week to have a look. Rod u free?? hehe...
